🌺 Our Luxury and Comfort-Filled Trip to Honolulu on Oʻahu, Hawaii 🌴

My son is a huge history buff, and visiting Pearl Harbor was high on his bucket list. So we planned a dream getaway to Honolulu, staying at the breathtaking Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort for three days before heading to the lush island of Kauai (blog post on that coming soon!).

🏨 Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort This resort is a tropical paradise! It’s nestled on a sprawling stretch of Waikiki Beach and offers everything from vibrant pools and a saltwater lagoon to a luxury spa and five stunning towers, each with its own vibe. The beachfront views are unforgettable, and we spent our days lounging by the pool, sipping tropical drinks, and exploring the beautiful grounds. I especially loved the array of shops and restaurants just steps from our room—it felt like a little world of its own.

🌅 We wish we could have attended the resort’s legendary luau (they book quickly, so reserve early!). Just one more reason to plan a return trip. 💃🌺

🌊 While in Honolulu, we explored local beaches like Diamond Head and enjoyed delicious meals both within the resort and in nearby restaurants. One dish I instantly fell in love with was Loco Moco—a savory hamburger steak over rice with onions and a perfectly runny fried egg on top. 🍳 I even found a recipe and now make it at home!

🕊️ Pearl Harbor – A Powerful Experience The main reason for our Oʻahu visit was to pay our respects at Pearl Harbor. 🇺🇸 It was an incredibly moving and eye-opening experience. The USS Arizona Memorial, in particular, left us speechless. Floating above the sunken battleship, you can still see parts of it just beneath the water. We took time to explore the museum exhibits and the USS Bowfin submarine—it was both educational and emotional, and something we will never forget. 🙏

📚 Comfort Reads & Kindle Favorites Long flights are the perfect excuse to dive into a good book. I brought along my Kindle Fire and used both Kindle Unlimited and the Libby app to access dozens of titles. Here are a few I read (and loved!):
